Platform Sharing Toyota Urban Cruiser Launched!

Platform sharing is a new strategy in the automobile industry to get the maximum market share. Maruti Suzuki is one of the biggest car manufacturers in India, is now sharing platform with Toyota globally known for its durability and reliability.

Earlier we saw the Maruti Baleno the premium sedan sold by NEXA was rebadged and launched in the market by Toyota known as the Glanza. Toyota just came up with a new vehicle known as the Urban Cruiser with is no other than the Maruti Vitara Brezza.

The Urban Cruiser has the same features and figures as the Vitara Brezza. It has a 1.5 litre naturally aspirated Petrol unit that generates 103 Bhp and 138 Nm of torque. It will be available with a 5-speed manual and 4-speed automatic gearbox option. The automatic version will get Smart Hybrid technology as well.

The difference you will notice in both the cars will be the front bumpers and the badge on the steering wheel. The front bumper has been redesigned with a massive grill, round and bigger fog lights and nothing else. Dual led projector headlights, LED tail lamps, LED DRL’s, Diamond cut alloy wheels and so on will be common in the Brezza and Urban Cruiser.

Toyota also announced an offer called the ‘Respect Package’ for the customers who had booked the vehicle before it was launched and will be benefited with the no cost periodic maintenance for 20,000 km or 2 years which one is earlier.
